Serve / Global: Our World

Haiti Information

The PCA’s Mission to the World (MTW) has set up a process for receiving financial contributions that will go directly toward relief efforts in Haiti, including the work of MTW missionaries and churches in the affected region. Read byFaith’s article on MTW’s relief efforts in Haiti.

Direct contributions can be made here. For more information on the work of MTW and their relief efforts in Haiti, see here.

We each have a mission to the people we are with every day: our family members, roommates, coworkers, and neighbors. At Grace DC we believe that global missions flow out of the missions work we are already doing on the local level. Click here to learn more about our local missions partners, and how you can get involved.

How can I get involved in Grace DC’s global mission work?

Many of us are unable to physically go do global missions. Fortunately we are given a wonderful tool to minister with: prayer. Check the announcements for Monthly Missions prayer gathering to hear more about a particular missionary, and spend time in prayer on their behalf. For more information about this gathering, contact Katherine.

Exciting Upcoming Opportunities:

  • Support David in Zambia
Beginning August 2009, Grace DC Member David Bramlett will work with The Jubilee Centre, a Zambian-indigenous Christian ministry that is passionate about mentoring Christians in evangelism, servant leadership, living just and compassionate lives, and building healthy communities. Zambia is a country of deep poverty: 53% of Zambians live in extreme poverty. Calling on his experience with Teach for America, David will train the teachers of community schools who educate orphans and vulnerable children of the Ndola, and will write curriculum. What can you do?

    Pray for David…

    • for rest this summer as he takes July to reflect on his past two years with Teach for America and to prepare for his trip.
    • for cultural sensitivity as David adjusts to life in Zambia, and for success in learning the Zambian tribal language he is studying.
    • that doors to the Zambian government will open for the Jubilee Centre to affect change in Ndola.
    • that God will grow and strengthen a vision for what the Gospel means for Ndola in the hearts of the The Jubilee Centre workers.
