Nursery and Children’s EducationWe take seriously the vows members make at baptisms as a community to help raise our kids in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord”. Accordingly, each Grace DC member serves in the nursery about once every six months. Our Children’s Ministry Team helps with childcare at Grace DC events, kids’ programs such as the Christmas Play and Vacation Bible School, and other fun activities. Contact Children’s Ministry Administrator Lisa Moore for more information. Children’s ChurchWe have many volunteers who share the privilege of teaching our children. If you are interested in becoming a part of this very special team, you will be asked to serve about once every 3 months. Contact Children’s Church coordinator Cindy Moore if you have any further questions about the program or are interested in volunteering. |

Coffee Hour TeamGrace DC asks each Community Group to host one coffee hour a year. Fun themes are welcome, but ordinary coffee and cookies are always enthusiastically appreciated. Contact D’Ann Lettieri for more info on how you can get involved. Eat and Meet TeamTwice a month folks from Grace DC enjoy gathering over a meal at a local restaurant after Sunday service. ALL are welcome: newcomers, regular attenders, single, married, young and old! Kids are welcome. Contact Deb Dryer for more info. Fourth Friday DinnersWe love sharing meals together! On the fourth Friday of each month, dinners of 8-12 people are hosted across the District at homes of Grace DC attenders. To sign-up for a dinner, check our calendar. To host a dinner, or for more info, contact Brent Dieleman, Bukola Aina or Stephanie Cox. Social Events TeamFall retreats in crisp West Virginia, picnics in Rock Creek Park, swing dance fund raisers, hikes on Billy Goat Trail, book clubs, dinner parties, white water rafting… The Social Team creates chances to grow together as a community, and venues where we can invite curious friends and colleagues to interact with Christians in a less intimidating setting, perhaps, than at Sunday worship. |

Care TeamThis team aims to reach members of our church during times of need, such as, providing meals to those who are sick or who just had a baby, or giving a helping hand to those who are moving; and much more. Contact Laura Woolsey or Diana Havlin to learn how you can get involved, or if you know someone who might need a helping hand! ICUHave a heart for the homeless? Join the ICU Team to provide special attention to our homeless neighbors, latecomers, visitors or anyone who wanders through our open doors; full training is provided. Duties: be in the lobby during the service once every few months. Contact Jen Dostert for more info or with questions. Overseas Care TeamThe mission of the Overseas Care Team is to provide support, especially spiritual and emotional support for Grace DC attenders who are travelling overseas for extended periods of time with their jobs. This support is to address pre-deployment, deployment, and the transition back into DC life for those members who are traveling or stationed overseas for their jobs. To learn more, contact Anna Stratton. We facilitate a Yahoo group (yahoo.com/group/gracedc-overseas ) to act as a point of reference for overseas workers to locate any resources (fellowship, recommendations, travel & packing tips, whatever!). |

Prayer Team The Prayer Team seeks to encourage the body to pray, as we long to see God’s grace radically change our lives, our city and the world. We pray regularly for the ministry of our church and its people, as we receive and respond to prayer requests from the congregation. We meet quarterly to be encouraged in prayer and to pray strategically together. Contact Molly to get involved. |

Greeting TeamWe have many new faces who come through our doors each week and greeting them is a tangible way to welcome people into our community against the backdrop of a city that can be very overwhelming. Info TeamNeed a question answered? Curious about things going on in our Church? Partner Ministries? Need a name tag? Check the lost and found? Parking voucher? Make your way to the Info Table located in the lobby to get your questions answered (and if we can’t help you, we will find someone who can)! If you’re interested in working the Table one Sunday per month, contact Janae Barker. Setup TeamThis is a great way for anyone to get involved. Show up early one Sunday every 2-3 months, and haul stuff from our storage closet into the sanctuary, etc. It’s easy, sociable work, and anyone can do it (but you’ll still be special if you do!). Contact Livingston Sheats to get involved. Sound TeamSomeone needs to work the sound boards for our musicians, and record the sermon, and this team graciously fits the bill. Whether you have experience, or never seen a sound board before, we will show you how it’s done. Communion TeamDo you like to pour wine or wash cups? The Communion Team is always looking for more recruits to arrive early to the service and pour, and for people to wash cups during the week. The more the merrier! This would be a once every two months or so commitment. Email Jane Tschetter for more info. Library Team You can browse our books online, and check them out at Coffee Hour the second and fourth Sunday of each month after church. Books can be returned to the cart or Info Table any Sunday. Questions? Contact Richard (richardjboles@gmail.com) to get involved. |
As a community-driven church, Grace DC depends on its members and regular attenders to be involved, and use your gifts within the community.
As a church “in the city, for the city,” Grace DC wants to learn to love and serve our city as well as our immediate body. Click here to learn more about how to pray for and serve our city locally.
As a part of the “catholic” (or universal) church, we’re actively seeking ways to serve and support our brothers and sisters all over the world. Click here to learn more about our global missions >>
Typically, the Team tries to plan one event per month. Being a part of this team is committing to attend quarterly meetings, and to plan, or co-plan, one event a year (and assist with other events as you wish).
To find out how you can help in this area, or get involved implementing an idea you have, contact team leaders Evan Coughenour or Haley Fults.
