  1. Housing Needed for Spring Semester!
    Posted by Arielle on 02.01.2012.

    Hey there!
My name’s Arielle, and I’m moving to DC for a spring internship through mid-May. I graduated with International Relations and Arabic from Montana State University, where I was born and raised. I am very outdoorsy, but also love to curl up with a good book or a movie, a great friends and conversation. I’m responsible, organized, and friendly, and look forward to living somewhere where I can share and grow in my faith.

My internship is in the NW district, so I’m preferably looking for something there, with a price range around $800 or less. If the place is already furnished that would be even better, since I’m coming from across country. This is ideal for someone who’s looking to study abroad but perhaps doesn’t want to lose a great housing situation!

If you have something that sounds like that, or an extra room to rent out in a home, please email me!

    Thanks!
    –Arielle

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am uncomfortable in my current living arrangement and need to find a place by end of February and no later than March 1st. I would love to know more information about your rental property that I saw on Frontline Connect. I am willing to put down between $450 and 650 a month to live in the DC area. I am currently a graduate student who needs to relocate in order to focus.I condition my mind to be strong in times of struggle. I hope to hear from you all soon.

    Sincerely,
    Chantia Robinson

  7. Immediate Housing needed for young CM, short or long term. I'm really cool, I swear.
Posted by Daniel Wood on 01.02.2012.

    Hi all,

Please excuse the shameless plug of how cool I am in the title. I’m not that cool, but I figured that I needed a hook to get you interested. Interested? Probably not, but please continue reading.

I’m a young Christian professional looking for housing in DC. I’m moving down today (1/2/2012) and starting my job later this week. I’m crashing at a friend’s place until I find housing.

I’m a fun, sociable guy who is drama free and very easy to live with. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends, biking and exploring, and cooking (I often share with roommates, if that sweetens the deal). I try to clean up after myself, especially when it comes to dishes and stuff in the kitchen. I can handle clean or dirty roommates and have experience living with both slobs and OCD clean freaks. Basically, I’m mellow and adapt to whatever is expected of me.

I’m looking for an immediate housing situation in DC for under 850 a month. Totally cool with sharing a room. I’m fine with living with guys or girls, both work. No real preference on neighborhood, but ideally somewhere in DC proper. Let me know if this could be a fit.

  10. Recent College Grad ISO Housing
    Posted by Mark on 12.30.2011.

23 year old male looking for roommates and/or housing in the city or near public transportation. I am laid-back, friendly, respectful and humble, and I enjoy all things artistic. I do not have any funding at the moment to contribute to rent, but i am able to cover personal expenses and needs for food and transportation. Also, I am willing to provide services in exchange for rent, such as cleaning or babysitting, if you are not comfortable with just offering “free” help; then, we both can benefit from the situation. I do not plan to be in this predicament for long, but with the tough job market, economy and high costs of living in dc, it is kind of hard for me to get my own place. So, if you would like to help someone in need, or would just like to receive help with some things you need, please send me a message.

    Thank You

  11. CF in need of housing in DC Feb 2012
    Posted by Rahmah on 12.28.2011.

I am a 29 year old female looking for a basement/attic apartment or a room in a house or apartment. I’m looking for a place in DC, preferably on the red or yellow line but any line works as long as it’s walking distance to the metro. I would even be willing to consider Arlington depending on the area. A little about me, I work for NIH, I’m very active in my church and also do a lot of outside volunteer work, I’m pretty neat and tidy, I don’t smoke or have any pets (allergies to both), I’m easy to get along with and while quiet, I do have my outgoing moments. I look forward to hearing from you!

  12. $850- Master bedroom available in end-unit townhouse. In search of a quality CF housemate!
    Posted by Monique on 12.20.2011.

I’m in search of a female housemate to rent a 13′ x 10′ room in a lovely Alexandria 3BR townhouse! The house is right off the Shirlington/Quaker Lane exit on Rte 395. You couldn’t ask for a better location! We’re also near Del Ray, Old Town, and DC. The house is located only a 5-7 minute drive from Braddock Road and King Street metro stations (blue/yellow lines) with free un-ticketed parking near Braddock Road metro! There are a lot of popular local restaurants nearby, a post office, several great shopping centers, and a gym. There’s also a Trader Joe’s and Whole Food’s 8 minutes away.

The neighborhood is great! There is a lot of natural light in the house. There are hardwood floors throughout. There is a washer and dryer, internet, and cable TV connection in each room, in case you want to have a TV in your room. There is also a fenced-in backyard with plenty of room for a garden. There is a storage shed in the backyard if you need extra storage space. There is plenty of street parking. The room rents for $850 plus utilities split three ways.

I’m a 31 year old attorney who works in DC. (I’d be willing to carpool into DC with housemates that are interested in such an arrangement). I’m originally from California, but I’ve lived in NoVA for 23+ years. I’m good-natured, positive, optimistic, and social. I try to keep my life balanced by exercising my mind, body and spirit. I’m not home that often. I spend a lot of my time at work, at ballet lessons, checking out cultural events in DC, planning and participating in community service activities, volunteering at my church, catching up with friends, working out at the gym, and going for runs. I’m currently training for a half marathon. My housemate is an investigator for the DC Government. She is introverted and enjoys reading and participating in outdoor activities. Both of us have lived abroad for extended periods of time. She lived in China and I lived in Japan.

My house is a place of peace, rest, and fellowship. I’m looking for a housemate who is dependable, pleasant, good-natured, positive, low-key, clean, a good communicator who respects their housemates and their personal belongings, and is willing to share some of the housecleaning chores. Also, I sometimes host church events and Bible studies, so I am looking for a housemate that would be comfortable with that. I’m allergic to smoke so I can’t have a housemate who smokes. [NB: If you are someone who is bossy, controlling, passive aggressive, messy, loud, who steals or doesn't like to contribute to shared housekeeping chores, or has a live-in boyfriend, this is not the right home for you].

The room is now available, so you can move in in December or in January. I’m asking for a one-month deposit and a minimum lease of 9 months, but you may lease for longer if everything is working out!
    —————-
For those with dogs: Although there are no pets currently in my house, it is a dog-friendly house, but you would need to pay monthly pet rent and a pet deposit in addition to your rent and room deposit. My other housemate and I would need to meet your dog first to observe its temperament. Please don’t contact me if you have a cat. I’m allergic to them.

    Hello!

I am a recent college grad from a private Christian college in TN and will be moving to DC the first week of January. I am looking for housing ASAP, my budget is $600. If you are looking for an additional roommate for your townhouse/apartment/home, then please let me know!

  17. looking for roommate and place to live
    Posted by Libby on 12.11.2011.

    Hi,
I’m a 32 year old female moving back to DC after a ridiculous amount of time in post-secondary education (studying first theology and then ancient Mesopotamia). I’ve decided to leave academia for the time being and look for a job in the “real world.”

I like spirituality, early music, Anne Lamott, Indian food, and playing volleyball (when I get the chance). I’m looking for a Christian female roommate to share bills and hopefully companionship and friendship, if that develops naturally.

I’d like to live in Arlington but I’m open to looking elsewhere. I’m just now starting my housing search and so am open to moving into an existing household or finding a new place.

    Sadly, cats are a no-go – I love them but I’m allergic.

Let me know if you’re interested – lboulter@umich.edu
