The upsides: it’s in a modern building (c. 2009), commands sweeping views of the city south & west, has community amenities including an excellent gym and a huge roof deck with gas grills and a bocce lawn. You have your own spacious full bathroom, and can enter & exit the apartment without walking through the main living space. The bedroom has a high ceiling, and is 9’3″ x 12′. We’ve furnished the room with a loft bed, an antique wardrobe, a dresser, table, chair, and lights. High speed internet, natch.
The downsides: your bedroom has just two small windows (one facing west, one facing south), and its closet is on far side of your bathroom, so you have to go through the bathroom to get to the closet.
The red tape: you need to submit a rental application to the building ($50) so they can do a criminal background check. But you can do that after you move in – there’s 2 weeks grace.
The flatmates: S is an economist at a D.C. think tank. K is a neuroscience Ph.D. student. We both work 40+ hours on normal schedules. We’ve been married since 2010. We love board games, bicycling, our church, having friends over, and hiking in the Shenandoah Valley. Our idea of an ideal evening is to have a friend or two over for dinner, share a bottle of wine or a pot of tea, and play a nerdy board game.
The cost: we are paying $2450 plus utilities. We think $1150 furnished is quite reasonable for the suite, plus 1/3 or 1/2 of utilities (depending on whether you are a single or a couple).
The fine print: No pets, no smoking, no kids, no slobs, no romantic overnight guests.

Third CF roommate is needed at Crystal City in Arlington, VA
I’m looking for a Christian female to take over my lease in a three bedroom apartment in Crystal City.
The room is available July 1st or sooner if needed. The building is Crystal Towers. The new roommate should be willing to stay until June 2, 2014 when the one-year lease expires. There will be an option to renew the lease at that time.
The room for rent is $1021 a month. The rent is staggered by room size for the three rooms. The room for rent has carpet, a large window with great sunlight, individual temperature control, and a generous closet as well as a shared linen closet in the hallway. The room shares a full bath.

Hello! I am searching for 1 Christian woman to rent a room in the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house (a rambler) I am renting in Alexandria, VA. The move in date would be between May 27 & June 2.
The bedroom (11×8) is on the main floor. It has a closet, carpet & is currently furnished with a twin bed, dresser, desk & nightstand. The furniture can be removed if needed. It is $500, plus a third of the utilities.
The house has 2 levels. There is a bathroom & living room on each floor of the house. The main level has the dining room & eat-in kitchen. The bottom level has a laundry/mudroom. The house has lots of storage. There is also a good size fenced in backyard, a driveway & street parking.
The utilities average around $180 & are split equally between the 3 roommates. The utilities include electric, gas, water, internet & phone. The landlord pays for ADT so long as the tenents pay for the phone line.
The house is conveniently located off of W. Glebe Road near 395. A bus stop on a line that runs directly to the Pentagon is located 4-5 townhouses down the street from the house. The Crystal City, Pentagon City & Pentagon metro stops are all less than 2 miles away.
There is an Organic Grocery store, a Giant, a Starbucks, a few Banks, & various other local shops & restaurants in a few blocks walking distance. Pentagon City, Crystal City, Potomac Yard, Del Ray & Shirlington are all within 2 miles of the house. So the house is very centrally located.
The owner doesn’t allow dogs, but I do have 1 pet cat. She is very sweet, friendly & fixed.
The lease is month to month. The deposit is one month’s rent.
About me: I am a 32 year old professional, who works in downtown DC. I tend to work late & am currently enrolled in school. So between those commitments, being involved in my church & other social/service commitments, I keep busy. So when I am home, I tend to be quiet & low key. I’m looking for a Christian female to take over my lease in a three bedroom apartment in Crystal City.
The room is available July 5th or sooner if needed. The building is Crystal Towers. The new roommate should be willing to stay until June 2, 2014 when the one-year lease expires. There will be an option to renew the lease at that time.

Roommates wanted for house in Capitol Hill area

I found a great house near H Street that I am would like to find roommates for. The house is located at 432 10th Street NE. There are three bedrooms to fill (plus one for me, so there are four bedrooms total). There is one big bathroom upstairs and one in the basement. The common areas are fairly large. There is also a basement, an attached garage, and a back porch. Lots of storage space. The floors are hardwood. The rooms become available at the beginning of June, and the landlady would like people by mid June at the latest.
There are two rooms that are going for $975/mo. They are very large with closets.
There is a smaller room going for $675. It has a closet. This room is less expensive because I would have to walk through that room to get to mine. The girl who currently lives there has set up a sort of bookshelf hallway to maximize privacy, which works well.

Christian Community in Deanwood has 1 space, starting June
My house is looking for a 3rd person to move in starting in June. This could be just for the summer or for longer, we would be open to either. Hi! My name is Patty and I live with two amazing Christian girls. I’m moving back to PA because I found a job there and I need someone to take my place in our apartment. CF Summer (potentially longer) HUGE chinatown apartment
I currently live in Chinatown. It is a 2 min walk to the Circulator Bus on Mass Avenue, only a few blocks to both Chinatown/Gallery Place Metro and Mt Vernon Square Metro. I often walk to work on Capitol Hill and it takes max 20 minutes.

The bedroom is roughly 12×14 and has floor-to-cealing windows that offer plenty of natural light, and a view of nearly the entire neighborhood. You’ll find the same thing out in the common areas. I could continue to describe the kitchen and living spaces but I think the pictures do it justice. You may have also noticed that the building comes stacked with lots of awesome amenities, rooftop pool, fitness center, party room, screening room, parking, 24-hour concierge service. These amenities certainly add value to the place by fostering a certain lifestyle/ sense of community amongst residents, and this is also something that I’ve really come to love about this place.
The neighborhood is awesome too, you’re right on H street all with its bars and restaurants, you’re a close walk from the hill, about a 2 minute walk from the red-line metro at Union Station, a 7 minute walk or 30 second car/ bike ride from Harris Teeter (the grocery store) but very soon they’ll be completing a Giant, right across the street from the apartment. The apartment is also furnished, so is the bedroom, I’ll leave my bed/ desk for you if you want them.
You’d be living with the two other guys that occupy the two other rooms. They’re both great, they balance each other out in a way that makes life in the apartment fun and interesting. One’s 28, and is a reserved/ un-pompous Harvard-educated fellow. The other’s 24 and is a rather outgoing, and quick-witted, lobbyist for the financial industry. They both have great integrity as roommates, both are clean and considerate, have a sense of humor, are open minded, and are organized when it comes to rent/ utilities. They’ed appreciate these same basic qualities in the person that’s going to supplant me. I admit I’m sad to leave such a great living situation but I’ve been accepted to grad school and I’m going to be moving home to save money until the year starts up in September.

Bedroom and private bathroom are in the basement of a 3-story townhouse. We have a small kitchen, dining room, two living rooms, and back patio/grill/garden area. 3 CFs looking for 4th roommate in Glover Park!
We rent a 3-story, 4-bedroom row house in Glover Park, and our fourth roommate is getting married in mid-May. So the room would be available June 1, or shortly before. The three of us are members at Grace, and our community group meets at our house. It’s a great place, and we’ve lived here a while, so the main level (living room, dining room, kitchen, and back sitting room) is fully furnished – but if you have furniture you want to bring, let us know! We also have a great back deck and front porch.
The room that is available is one of the 3 bedrooms upstairs. It’s the middle room and shares a bathroom with one other roommate. It’s a great deal for this area – rent is only $800 plus utilities!

Two girls in our home are getting married, so there are two rooms available for two Christian females in our 5-bedroom home in Rockville.
Available May 19 is the room on lower level for $312.35 per month. One year lease required with Long and Foster Mgmnt Co. It has one window and a closet. You would share the lower level with another professional CF who is very independent but also very friendly. She works quietly from home much of the time as a freelance writer in between intermittent assignments in the city that require an early a.m. departure. She is very respectful of her lower level roommie’s need for rest and privacy, and works to accommodate the roommie’s needs to get in the bathroom which the two girls will share. The bathroom has a shower only, but for baths, the upper level bathroom, shared by two girls upstairs, is available.
The lower level kitchen has a sink, and can accommodate a microwave, griddle, toaster oven, and a hot pot for making meals. If you want the lower level room, and have any of these items, that’d be great. If not, we will get them since the current roommie is taking them with her. The lower level is furnished with a large couch with pull out bed for visitors, and a dining table with four chairs. If you have lamps and end tables, we could use them.
The room on the upper level is $360 and is available in July. One year lease required with Long and Foster Mgmnt Co. It has one window and a closet. You would share a full bathroom with one other girl. The two girls on the upper level work intermittent schedules also-one is a social worker and the other a nanny.
The upper level kitchen is available to all for more extensive cooking at any time. (Sadly we are losing our house gourmet cook.) It is stocked with plenty of pots, pans, and dishes. There is a stove with two ovens, and a microwave. There is a blender and a small coffee maker also.
About the location:
We are a 20 minute walk to the metro, and a couple minute walk to the bus. We are very close to Town Center. The neighborhood is great for jogging, very peaceful, but also there are shops, restaurants and movies close by. Rockville Pike is replete with every store imaginable. Rockville community center is close by with a pool and workout facility. Gold’s Gym is nearby at Town Center.We girls live in a supporting and loving community. We are all dedicated Christians who attend church regularly. Those who wish to, often pray together and have breakfast on Saturdays. You can have as much seclusion or as much interaction as you wish in this spacious home. There are two sunrooms, a laundry room with a full washer and dryer, nice backyard area and two common areas-the upstairs living room, and the downstairs living room.
The upstairs has a large TV with Comcast and DVD. We have a large family style dining area upstairs with a large dining room table in the dining room. There are three common storage areas also.
We have a cleaning service for the common areas and bathrooms twice a month. The utilities, cable, internet, and cleaning run about $150 a month.

I’m looking for someone to sublet my room for the month of May in my apartment on 14th street, just a couple blocks north of Target, 7 minute walk to both Georgia Ave and Columbia heights metros.
Circumstances require me to move out a month before our lease is up, and I’m looking for someone (pref. Christian male) to move in for the month of May. Large One-Bedroom Adams Morgan: 4 mo. Summer Sublet OR For Rent $1835/month
I have a very spacious one-bedroom in the Adams Morgan/Kalorama Height area. It is located about half way between the Dupont and Woodley Park metros.
It is on a rather quiet neighborhood-like street. It has large windows with trees out front making it very private. It is in the corner of the apartment building too and so that makes it even more quiet. I rarely hear my neighbors. It has lots of closet space and a little dining area.
The apartment can be furnished or unfurnished. I’m looking to sublet it from the beginning of May (I could even move out earlier in April if that is needed) through the end of August when my lease will end. The rent is $1835/month with $40 for internet. I’m willing to negotiate the price if necessary. If you’d like to move into the place and then rent it for the following year (beginning in September), that is a possibility.
The landlord is very attentive and friendly should any problems arise. The place has suited me very well though. I am moving back in with my family for the summer since I could not find a job/internship (I am currently a grad student).

Female Apartmentmate Wanted for 2 BR/2 BA in Rosslyn, Arlington VA
I’m a young professional Christian female looking for an apartmentmate (or possibly two, if you’d prefer to share your room to bring down costs) starting in late May or early June, either for the summer or for the rest of the lease (through March 2014).
I live in an apartment unit in the high-rise Archstone apartment building in Rosslyn, Arlington. The building is in a convenient location in Rosslyn about 5 minutes from the Metro station (blue/orange), Circulator/Georgetown bus stops, and many other bus lines. Within walking distance is a Safeway, Trader Joe’s/Whole Foods, and Georgetown neighborhood.
Among other amenities, there is a 24-hour gym, concierge service, business center for printing/scanning/etc., a swimming pool that’s open during the warmer months, and a convenience store with dry cleaning services. Optional basement storage is $50/mo., if you have any bulky items you don’t want in the apartment, as well as optional parking ($70/mo for the first car).
The apartment would be mostly furnished, though there’s flexibility if you have anything of your own — furnishings include a dining table and chairs, lamps, and a TV table, and I have dishware, cutlery, etc. and have some kitchen appliances. Bedroom furniture (twin bed, shoe racks, small standing shelf, side table) can be provided if you would like. I also have an Xbox that I’m willing to share

Looking for a Female Roommate for Beautiful Apartment near Clarendon (starting April 1 - April 6)
Starting between April 1st and April 6th, I’m looking for a female roommate to share my two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in Arlington near Clarendon. It’s a beautiful apartment, 1008 square feet, with big, open rooms, hardwood floors, and windows in every room overlooking either the courtyard or backyard. We have central AC with a programmable thermostat as well as ceiling fans in the living room and each bedroom. The living room and kitchen are fully furnished as you can see in the photos.
The bedroom that is available has double windows that face southwest, so it gets lots of light. The rent would be $1000 a month, which includes a parking spot, water, heat, and cooking gas. The electric bill and cable/highspeed-internet bill are running about $65 per person per month. There is a bus stop alongside the apartment building where the 3A/3B/3E/15L routes pick up on the way to Rosslyn (4 minute ride), and Clarendon is a 10 minute walk away. Giant, CVS, Starbucks, and BGR are conveniently across the street.
