We are looking for a female housemate in our gorgeous Victorian Row house near the corner of 6th & Q NW. The bedroom for rent is an upstairs bedroom, which comes fully furnished with a bed, bookcase, and dresser. All common areas come fully furnished. Our landlady is a wonderful and generous person who does everything she can to make sure we have a comfortable home!
Your future housemates are three women in their twenties to thirties, working in a variety of fields: international development, public health, and education. While we all have lives outside of the house, we also like to hang out with each other. We like to explore the city, cook, eat, read & watch TV, and sometimes play games. Our heart is to have a community of friends. Although we attend different churches (Presbyterian, Baptist, Catholic) and are at different stages professionally, we care for one another and for any guests who come into our home. We are not interested in having a “dormitory.”
We are looking for a housemate who is responsible, mature (strict no-drama rule), neat in the common areas, and willing to hang out and check in with her housemates every once in a while. Because we will be sharing a bathroom, we’d prefer another awesome lady housemate.
Unfortunately, no pets are allowed on our property (we sometimes compensate by dog-sitting for our neighbor). There is also no smoking inside the house. Our house is located within one — two blocks of several major bus lines (G2, G8, 70 buses, 90 buses – the house is within 10-15″ to Capitol Hill, Union Station, K Street, and DuPont/Georgetown), and two metros (Shaw and Mt. Vernon). A brand new library and Kennedy Community Center are around the corner, and a Safeway is a few blocks down the street. It’s just a 10″ walk to China town or U Street Corridor.

The house is a ranch style home with 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, and family room. Our rent also includes lawn care so in the spring/summer and fall we have someone to mow the lawn for us (so no need to worry about that!)
The home has a driveway for parking, but there is also plenty of room to park on the street outside the home, which is wide and very safe!The house would be shared with two other strong Christian women. Both are in their mid-20s and are wonderful roommates.

About the apartment: It’s $715 a month for the bedroom in a lovely, brand new renovated apartment a five minute drive from the Huntington metro in Alexandria. The carpet is brand new, all appliances are brand new, all utilities (except internet which is around $20 per month) are included, and it’s within walking distance of anything your heart could desire. There’s a Target, Wal-Mart, Panera, Lowe’s, Giant, Starbucks, TGI Fridays, Chipotle, and other restaurants along those lines, all a five minute walk away. The Beltway is five minutes away, and Old Town is a ten minute drive (three miles away). There’s a bus stop right outside, and the location is perfect because you can hop on any bus from Huntington and it will drop you off within ten minutes within walking distance of the apartment. It’s completely feasible to live here without a car, and if you do have one, it will be even easier.
