The power of the early church was not only due to the good news which they had to share, but also how that news was shared: in Word and Deed. These have always been the twin power, the two wings of the message of God’s grace, and when only one is presented it is a false gospel. The judgment of Ananias and Sapphira wasn’t because they refused to give all their money to the church, it was because they sought to introduce a false gospel.
