The Necessity of Love

July 15th, 2007 by Glenn Hoburg

If someone offered you a wish: To be greatly gifted and have those gifts recognized by the world, or to be known as a quiet and loving person—which would you choose? While we all affirm the importance of love, in our culture we tend to believe that being talented is a more beautiful or excellent thing. The church at Corinth shares that belief, so Paul instructs them in the most excellent way—love.
And, this love is not only excellent, but necessary; nothing less than the fulfillment of the entire law of God.
