The Returning King

When those of Jesus’ earthly ministry caught even a glimpse of his glory they had the good sense to believe: if I can just get near him he could help. That hope hasn’t changed–if anything its gotten better. However, we need to get to Jesus as he really is. We all tend to see God as a perfected version of ourselves, and, we see Jesus through the filter of our personalities, race, culture, religious tradition. Revelation Chapter 1 helps provide a way out that problem. We find ourselves before Jesus as he really is, and so also find hope for our day to day living.
